Hi friends,
I am in a plan to go for OCP 9i developer certification. I have a question, wat's the diff. in giving exams
1)izo-007->sql, izo-147->plsql instead of giving
2)izo-001->sql&plsql, as single exam. Is Cost-wise any difference. Really I am confused. Plz clarify me. Thanks in advance.

The essential difference is that 1z0-147 tests parts of PL/SQL that 1z0-001 topics cannot reach.

Another point is 1z0-007+1z0-147 (or even 1z0-001+1z0-147) will get you a pl/sql developer OCA certification

But perhaps the most important point is 1z0-001 is no longer with us ... it is retired. It is retired so long it even fails nowadays to get a mention on http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=206, however Re: OCA & OCP Certificates is useful for those who have already passed 1z0-001 as it is currently a valid replacement credit for 1z0-007 in many certifications. An alternative reference is: http://blogs.oracle.com/certification/2009/05/oracle_retires_oracle_internet.html

You need one of he SQL exams and 1z0-042 for this.

- Read forum annoucement posts and FAQs

- Visit http://www.oracle.com/education/certification
- Visit http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=151 and drill down from there.
---- The exam course page also gives recomended oracle training.
---- See http://blogs.oracle.com/certification/2009/05/the_route_you_choose.html
- http://www.pearsonvue.com/Oracle/locate/

You should also evaluate why you are chooses 10g DBA OCA rather than 11g DBA OCA. There can be good reasons for this.

Please note that if you continue with the next DBA certiifcation on that route (10g DBA OCP ) you will need to have an approved attended a hands on course (for that certification) from an approved institution (Oracle University is the safest bet).
